SOCIAL GRANTS

Wellbeing of our people is grounded in the values of manaakitanga, kaitiakitanga and whanaungatanga. As part of our Kaupapa, the Trust offers Kaumatua Hauora Grants for Beneficial Owners, Discretionary Grants to benefit the broader group of Beneficial Owners and their descendants, and Tangi Grants to assist with tangihanga costs for Beneficial Owners (either directly or through a whānau trust) or descendants of any Beneficial Owner.

EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT

Education is the heart of our kaupapa. As Rangatira for Ngāti Tamateatutahi Ngāti Kawiti, we see every investment in education as an investment in our collective future – mo ake tonu atu! Our education grants uplift whānau of our whenua, enabling them to pursue higher learning, increase their skills and in turn, strengthen the mana and resilience of our hapū and iwi.

Applicants must whakapapa to Te Tahuna.

Tertiary Grants: for those accepted/enrolled in an NZQA-approved or equivalent tertiary course, from certificates through to doctorates.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT: NEW BUSINESS LOANS

To create an environment that supports successful Māori business ventures and sustainable economic growth by providing access to capital for Te Tahuna Trust shareholders and their descendants. Please complete both the Business Loan Application and Business Plan Template.

CULTURAL DEVELOPMENT

The Trust provides regular grants to Tapuaeharuru Marae to support maintenance, development and enhancement of cultural activities and assistance to support kaumātua representation at hui and important cultural events.
