Te Tahuna Trust has submitted to the Health Select Committee OPPOSING the Healthy Futures Amendment Bill on behalf of Ngāti Tamateatutahi-Ngāti Kawiti hapū.
Why we oppose this Bill:
- Breaches Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations
- Undermines Māori health equity progress
- Ignores connection between environmental & human health
- Fails to address rural Māori health challenges
- Weakens Iwi-Māori Partnership Boards
Our submission emphasises:
- Kaitiakitanga responsibilities in health outcomes
- Need for genuine Crown-Māori partnership
- Environmental determinants of health
- Rural health service delivery
