Strategy

The strategic focus combines environmental stewardship through restoration and sustainable practices, economic development via eco-tourism and land use, and innovation through indigenous-led partnerships and technology for cultural preservation.

If the land is well and the sea is well, the people will thrive.

E tangi tonu ana mō tō tātou kaumātua, a Muriwai Ihakara. Nāna te oranga o te reo I whakakaha, mā te whakakōrero i ngā pūrākau me ngā waiata o Ngāti Pikiao kia rāngona, ka mutu, nāna hoki te rautaki matua o Te Tāhuna i tautoko. Moe mai ra kei te piki amorangi.

We acknowledge the passing of Kaumātua Muriwai Ihakara, who supported the Te Tahuna Strategy and championed the reo, pūrākau, and waiata of Ngāti Pikiao. His legacy lives on.
